Why our treatment works when spray doesn’t

Most cockroach problems in Malaysian kitchens are the German cockroach (Blattella germanica) — the small brown one that nests indoors and breeds fast, one egg case carrying up to 40 eggs. Here’s the key thing: cockroaches don’t have a queen. They gather in shared harbourages of nymphs and adults tucked into cabinet hinges, behind the fridge, under the sink and inside appliance housings.

A can of spray kills the few roaches that walk across it and scatters the rest deeper — which is exactly why cockroaches keep coming back after spraying. We use BASF Provecta gel bait placed on the runways next to the harbourage. The roaches eat it, carry it back, and it clears the group you never see. It’s targeted, leaves no residue on food-prep surfaces, and works whether you’ve got the German kind indoors or the big American kind coming up from the drains — the difference is explained in German vs American cockroach.

What the treatment includes

Every cockroach job runs the same honest shape:

• Inspection. The technician tracks the signs — droppings, egg cases, smear marks — back to the harbourage, moving the fridge and checking cabinet hinges and appliance housings. • Gel baiting. Small dots of HACCP-certified gel bait go into the cracks and crevices where the roaches shelter. No fogging, no dousing your kitchen, no evacuation — families and pets stay home as normal with no re-entry window.
• Follow-up. For an established infestation, the 3-visit plan spreads three visits across two weeks to catch the next hatch, so the population doesn’t rebound.

It is normal to see a few more cockroaches in the first 48 hours as the bait draws them out — that’s the treatment working, and the technician will tell you so upfront.
